Prevention of sexual harassment and anti ragging

It is an evil on the part of cultured society to perpetrate  sexual harassment in one or other part of our life. The effective ways to deal with it is to prevent it at the thresh hold itself.

In our institution an affective mechanism has been provided to prevent occurrence of sexual harassment anywhere in the college campus. The system evolved to prevent sexual  harassment in the campus is as under.

• A separate sexual harassment prevention committee has been constituted to keep constant vigil on any act of sexual harassment in the campus.
• Display of strict warning against commission of sexual harassment in any form
• Organise awareness program to sensitize students against involvement in any act of sexual harassment
• Provide copy of rules existing in the rule book of prevention of sexual harassment to the students to create awareness as to consequences resulting from such act
• Teaching and non teaching staff are made aware as to their behaviour with ladies’ staff & ladies’ students
• Stringent policy initiate to take immediate action against anyone who is found to have involved in the act of sexual harassment
• Organize discussion with experts to have updates  regulating sex regulating laws, legal provisions & case laws to prevent  sexual harassment

Rules of discipline and anti ragging

The institution does have an arrangement to deal with indiscipline & anti ragging activities committed threaten to be committed in the campus. The arrangement in made as under

• Authorise physical director to take rounds in the campus very often in a day during college hours to keep a vigil on any act of indiscipline & ragging
• Bring an act of indiscipline or ragging if any found in the campus to the notice of the principal
• The principal shall take immediate disciplinary action against a student or students found to have involved in any act of indiscipline or ragging
• Bring to the notice of parents of the students who is found to have involved indiscipline or ragging act
• Inform the act of ragging to the law enforcing agencies so as to prevent the situation go out of control & problematic to other students & people living in the surrounding
• Make the arrangement to provide legal protection to the victims of ragging.
• Warn the students time & again against involving in any act of indiscipline & ragging
• Rules of government against anti ragging are displayed in the conspicuous place of the college campus

Rules of Discipline and Anti ragging

• The convener of the committee is nominated by the Principal.
  · The committee members meet once in a month
  · The committee prepares the Time Table for watch and ward in the campus.
  · The member(s) of committee take rounds in the campus and observe that discipline is maintained in the campus.
  · If any unwanted events take place in the campus, the meeting is called by the convener and decisions taken in the meeting are executed. If the case observed is serious, the parents of alleged students is called upon and the matter is discussed with them otherwise the case may be handed over to the Police.
  · The committee members advise the students to maintain discipline in the campus.
  · Any circulars from the Govt. regarding Anti-ragging measures are notified to the students.
